Foothills Master Gardeners at Evergreen Farmers Market June 14th- August 30, 2016 10AM – 2PM

The growing season is fast approaching as we all begin to look at winter clean-up chores awaiting attention in our gardens and yards. Below is the calendar for this year’s market, the 5^th year featuring specific help to foothills gardeners! Our booth is staffed by Colorado  Jefferson County Master Gardeners and is present every week to answer your garden questions and help inform you and your children about important and interesting garden topics this summer.  New to gardening in the foothills? This is the place to be. Let us help you out !!

June 14^th – Opening Day. Gardening in the Foothills.  Kid’s giveaway for Pumpkin Growing contest

June 21 – The Buzz on bees. Guest CMG beekeepers w/exhibit hive & live bees

June 28 – Foothills Soils. CMG soils expert w/activities for all ages.  Learn what your plants need.

July 5^th – Foothills Native Plants

July 12 – Weed ID clinic. Guest experts from Evergreen Audubon Society Weed committee.

July 19 – Butterflies, birds & pollinators

July 26 – Container plantings for veggies and flowers

Aug 2 – Fire mitigation and fire wise plantings.  Guest educator from EVFD

Aug 9 – Plant Diseases – Red flag Warnings

Aug 16 – Chickens in the Garden – Guest CMG chicken keeper w/live chicken

Aug 23 – Rock Gardens & cacti.

Aug 30 – Season wrap-up and awards to our pumpkin growers

The market has moved this year and will be located directly off of Evergreen Parkway exit from I-70, below Home Depot at Evergreen Country Day School.  Follow the signs, come join in the fun and shop from other vendors for fruits, veggies, breads and other items.  Western slope peach vendors are especially popular from late July through August.  Don’t forget every Tuesday on dates listed above from 10:00AM-2PM.  We look forward to seeing you at our booth.
